Echoing Healthy Ageing (EHA): Provides support for dementia through multiple initiatives in Mumbai. EHA offers home based cognitive stimulation activities at home for People with Dementia. This is available in all parts of Mumbai. Group therapy sessions are conducted in a centre in lower Parel ,Mumbai. Also, customised training for family caregivers,formal caregivers on Caring for person with dementia is available in Mumbai.
They have recently (news received Feb 2020) started group cognitive stimulation activities open to persons in early /moderate stages of dementia. Synapsium: This is a brain health clinic that offers neurological and psychological healthcare services such as comprehensive counselling, psychotherapy, cognitive evaluations and rehabilitation care. This includes geriatric memory & dementia evaluations and rehab.
Tanvi Mallya’s Eldercare Services(TMECS): TMECS provides several home-based services for person with dementia and family caregivers. Includes home assessments, customized care plans that are kept updated, cognitive stimulation therapy, training, counselling, physical therapy, caregiver counselling, and other relevant support for managing care. They support families all across Mumbai.

An additional service in Mumbai is Mayacare, which has volunteers who help elders/ disabled persons by providing assistance/ company for outdoor services like shopping, visiting the bank, doctors, social functions, etc., doing transactions like applying for gas connections or preparing affidavits. |Pain/ Palliative Care||

Palliative care is also available in cancer hospitals/ hospices: such as Tata Memorial Hospital Opens in new window and Shanti Avedna Sadan Opens in new window. These services are likely to be focused on palliative care for cancer.
When getting palliative care, please remain alert that the doctors advising you are familiar with applying palliative care for dementia.

Below are some tips for locating additional resources:
- A list of local services can usually be obtained by surfing the Internet using keywords and the name of the city, and looking for various types of services. Most cities will have some home care services, old age homes, nursing agencies, etc. The larger hospitals of the city will usually have memory clinics, geriatric clinics, or geriatric psychiatry clinics to help the initial diagnosis of dementia. Search for these combined with your city name and other such phrases.
- Use various combinations and alternate city names for more suitable results.For example, you may look for Mumbai, Greater Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Bombay , or whatever else you consider useful. Search using locality names also.

- The reception/ nurses at local hospitals often know about agencies that supply attendants/ nurses for home care.
- Many large path lab services also provide home pickup of blood samples.
- Many neighborhood path labs and small clinics are able to send nurses home for some minor procedures, like IV. Some even have contacts of doctors who may be willing to make home visits (you must satisfy yourself about the quality and reliability)
Also note, contact numbers and addresses keep changing. If you have an problems old number/ name of hospital/ doctor, etc., get the latest details using local telephone inquiry/ assistance services.
